Grenville's concert at Bath Abbey on Friday November 3 - A celebration of the life of his son Kieron - raised over £7,000 for the We Get It Cancer family support charity. It was a truly memorable evening for the 650 people in Bath Abbey that evening. Thanks to everyone for their support.

WELCOME to the website of Grenville Jones. Grenville is based in the City of Bath and is well-known for his work both with choirs and also through his Charity Golden-Oldies. He wears two Hats - 'Hat 1' being the leadership of his many choirs under the Grenville Music Ltd banner. He has worked on stage with a number of leading celebrity soloists in past years and will be familiar to many through his many interviews and appearances on Radio and Television over the years. 'Hat 2' is his work as founder of 'Goldies.'
In the past 30 years Grenville has helped to raise over a £million pounds for charities across the UK. He has supported many national charities including the MS Society (in memory of his father Harry Jones) Cancer Relief, Prostate Society the British Legion and Help for Heroes, Mencap ( in his local area he made it possible for young people to visit Disneyland Paris raising £25,000 for a memorable weekend) and he also supports their wonderful singing group in Keynsham. He supported Save the Children and the NSPCC and, when one of his choir members tragically died, he led a fundraising campaign for The British Heart Foundation raising over £15,000 with his City of Bath Male Choir.
Many of his concerts this year have supported the people of Ukraine.
He always puts the accent on financial help for smaller local charities with his own choirs recognising that smaller amounts can make a big difference to local people’s lives, and the hundreds of members of his 25 choirs across the West of England choose the groups that they will support through concerts and events. He founded the charity Golden-Oldies in 2007 and personally leads on fundraising. “Goldies” at is better known is NOT a choir but brightens lives across England and Wales of older isolated people though FUN social singing groups in Libraries, Church Halls and Community Rooms. The charity and the growth of its work has been made possible by grants totalling over three quarters of a million pounds since launching. These have come from various groups, the National Lottery and Heritage Lottery (Goldies won the prestigious National Lottery Award in the Education Category with a WW1 Primary Schools project, initiated by Grenville) The Postcode Lottery, Tudor Trust, the Moondance Foundation in Wales, Garfield Weston, Local Authorities, Town Councils and many, many others have supported Golden- Oldies with Sir Cliff Richard as Patron.
Grenville’s rallying cry has always been that “SINGING should be on Prescription.” Over the years his commitment to bringing music, fun and singing has impacted on hundreds of thousands of lives across the World.

Grenville has travelled the world with his celebrated City of Bath Male Choir with concerts around England, Europe, as well as a memorable trip to Japan and Concert Tours to Boston and Nashville. The choir hit the headlines when it reached the final of the BBCs Last Choir Standing Series when celebrity judge Russell Watson called it “The Wall of Sound!” Bath Male Choir members come from across the region with rehearsals on a Tuesday evening. Another one of Grenville’s popular music projects are his Good Afternoon Choirs. Prior to Lockdown in March 2021, there were 11 Good Afternoon Choirs across the West Region. Grenville conducted 4 and the others were led by brilliant talented conductors. Since restarting the choirs, he has launched another 12 new GACs bringing the total to 24.

The Goldies Charity
Grenville’s second Hat is as founder of the Golden-Oldies Charity, more fondly known as Goldies. He started the Charity in Bath 13 years ago and it has grown to the point where (prior to Covid) it was running over 200 daytime FUN community singalongs across England and Wales.
Goldies is NOT about choir singing. The sessions are based on fun singalongs to the memory -voking songs of the past – the Charity works with many Partners across England and Wales with 70 dedicated freelance session leaders, taking place in community rooms, church halls and Libraries.
The Charity has enjoyed considerable financial support from a number of philanthropic Trusts and supporters over the years.1000’s attend and enjoy the sessions.
The Charity has relaunched some of its daytime Sing&Smile sessions (since Covid) in community rooms, churches and halls around the West Country and in Wales and hopes to restart many more in 2022.
