Monday 15th February 2016 A new Keynsham afternoon choir is coming soon, led by Bath’s Mr Music, Grenville Jones. He is launching a new daytime no-audition fun community choir for retired people living in or around Keynsham on Wednesday March 16. Grenville leads a number of music projects across the West and beyond. He is also founder of the Goldies charity, certainly NOT choirs but with 150 daytime sing and smile social sessions in community rooms and church halls now across the West of England, Essex, Hants, Staffs Yorkshire and South Wales. The Good Afternoon Choirs are one of his hugely successful choir projects with 250 singers in the Bath and Devizes weekly groups. Keynsham will meet at the Keynsham Methodist Church on Wednesdays from 2-4pm and everyone is welcome to go along and find out all about the group on Wednesday March 16 for a free admission open rehearsal. Says Grenville: “We sing all sorts of music – from folk songs and spirituals to Abba and Queen. It’s all about having fun, making new friends and enjoyment. I look forward to welcoming lots of folk on March 16 at Keynsham Methodist Church where we will rehearse in the church.” His other choirs include the famous Bath Male Choir from BBC1’s Last Choir Standing, who have a concert date at Keynsham Parish Church on Saturday evening May 28.
